13 March, 7.30 – 9pm
What role will clothes play within future cityscapes? This salon brought together designers and artist who talked fashion in an age of pervasive surveillance. We discussed strategies to safeguard future urban identities and uncover sartorial responses that tread the fine line between protection and exposure. How will advances in technology impact representations of identity and how can designers make a contribution beyond mere aesthetics?
Opening with a provocation by Gaika, the evening continued with a panel of experts in the field and closed with a performative and interactive Mixed Reality experience by Peut-Porter exploring the impact of enhanced vision systems on design and camouflage.
Discussion chaired by Susan Postlethwaite, Senior Lecturer MA Fashion RCA
This salon was curated by Fashion Space Gallery, London College of Fashion UAL.
